From absolute expanse of nullity
Whose emptiness enacts my hollow lack,
To one slight line on night’s periphery,
A slice of consciousness slenderly growing
That waxes slowly like a wakening eye
And widens to reflect light into showing
The intricacies of the deep night sky.
You came with the full moon in Scorpio,
And spelled me breathless with your clarity
Whose light revealed the one thing we must know—
Our bright conjunction: you aligned with me.
     And now you change, and shrink, and fade to pale;
     Full moon, please stay: I know night all too well.
